There are ways in which we all unfold, often in ways we might never have imagined.
I had a refined ability to see beauty and work with my hands from a young age. I include these images here because throughout my life, the use of my eyes and hands has always been my gift to the world and my greatest pleasure.
At the age of seventeen, I gathered my favorite houseplants and placed them on the coffee table in my family’s living room and drew and painted the leaves of Coleus plants, using my first rapidograph pen and inexpensive watercolors. That moment changed my life. Discovering my ability to create that piece, I stepped more fully into my gift as “an artist”. In the years that followed, I began drawing at a level I had only dreamed about, “sitting and seeing” for hours by myself.
At the age of twenty six, a friend introduced me to a woman with a gardening business who needed some part-time help. I thought it might be something to do for a couple of weeks until I figured out my next step. That decision changed the course of my life. I fell crazy, out of my mind “in love” on my first day. I have been designing and caring for gardens for thirty years. My relationship with plants and the experience of “working with my hands and eyes” to create beauty with them is beyond words.
At the age of forty two, I experienced a devastating loss that I did not think I could survive. I did everything I knew to do to seek support and try to make sense of what had happened. I could not find an ounce of relief or understanding. In my despair, I sat on my couch and from a place deep within, I asked for help with the feeling that I could not go it alone. I immediately heard a voice within myself that spoke clearly and without doubt. It told me to “do something for my body and something for my spirit”. I made two phone calls. The first one was to a spiritual friend who did massage. The second one was to a place I’d never been that an old friend I’d encountered told me about. I wasn’t sure about it, but it was the only thing I could think of. I called and scheduled a clairvoyant reading. That call changed the meaning of my life. They understood what had happened to me in a way I could never have found in a million years on my own. That reading and the loss I experienced became a gateway in my journey toward becoming a healer and clairvoyant. I work with spiritual energy using my hands and once again, I find myself “sitting and seeing” the wonder and beauty of life…clairvoyantly, through other people’s lives and spirits.
I gave a talk not long ago about my gift and what it’s like to see the energy of the aura and chakras. It was titled “The Art and Beauty of Seeing Your Spirit…Clairvoyance, Creativity and Healing in Full Color”. We are all an amazing, colorful and unique work of art. It is an honor to be able to see the human spirit in this way.
